Letter from Jesse Moore, a teacher at Washington College, to his parents. Jesse writes saying the rumor that he is going to become a clergyman is false because while the vocation would suit him the pay is too mean. He goes on to address what he believes are unscrupulous people among the Quaker congregation that wish to see him expelled, Isaac Potts is someone he has spoken to about this. He also talks about weather his not he wishes to continue teaching. He did give up teaching and took up law becoming a judge.
Mordecai Moore, Jesse's father, gave his land and house to the Continental Army to use for Valley Forge in 1777.
