Includes a copy of the resolution by the Continental Congress for William Smith to deliver this funeral oration. General Richard Montgomery was an Irish born Major General in the Continental Army; he died while trying to take Quebec City, December 31, 1775.  The British gave him an honorable burial but in 1818 his remains were moved to New York.
