Letter from Francis Lockerman in Baltimore to Joseph Burchinal regarding the arrival of "Grandfather and Margaret" and Lockerman's upcoming eighteenth birthday. Lockerman requests that Burchinal return to their old room at Washington College and see how tall Lockerman was when they last marked his height. Lockerman asks "are you going to enlist? I do not think that I shall if I can get out of it."
