Letter from Francis Lockerman in Baltimore to Joseph Burchinal regarding Lockerman's previous letter containing a photograph of himself, and requesting that Burchinal send him a portrait in return. Other topics include Margaret's recent stay at an estate called Homestead, Lockerman's desire to visit Chestertown, and the weather. Lockerman encourages Burchinal to spend some time outside, enjoying the nice weather and surroundings, and expresses a desire to work with his Uncle Ned at the hospital and possibly learn surgery.
