A list of sixty names entered into a raffle for a portrait of George Washington. A premable before the list begins states that the painting is "the last copy made by Miss Jane Stuart of the original painting executed by her father Gilbert Stuart" and each entry into the raffle would cost $5. The preamble also states that payments could be made to Mr. Redford, the Steward. Proceeds were to benefit "the Club" possibly the Newport Reading Room.
