Bobbie Anselmi recounts her experiences as a young woman living in England during World War II. Anselmi describes evacuees flooding her home town and the Anderson Shelter her father constructed in their backyard to protect the family during the bombings. She goes on to retell her experiences with rationing and how its implications were felt long after the war ended. In terms of her involvement in the war, Anselmi spent time as a wireless operator in the British Air Force and sang as a member of the Entertainment for Soldiers Naval and Air Force. Anselmi concludes her interview by describing the transition back to normal life for civilians following the conclusion of World War II.
