In this recording, Kathleen Carroll brings documents to the 2016 Scanathon that relate to her father’s time serving in the War. Originally stationed in Washington D.C., Thomas Andrews was then deployed to the Pacific and was anchored in Tokyo Harbor when the peace treaty was signed. The scanning of his insurance form leads to discussion of the GI Bill and the Veterans’ Association’s role in veteran insurance.
