Gerry Roderick, shares the story of his father, Donald Roderick, who served in the Navy as a pilot in Alaska during World War II. D. Roderick enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and was commissioned to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. As a pilot he flew a PBY Catalina and PV-1 Ventura. For his service, D. Roderick was awarded the World War II Victory Ribbon, American Campaign Ribbon, and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Ribbon.
