						Wesley Thompson was drafted into the Army in March of 1943 and served in the infantry until he was discharged in December of 1945. Thompson recounts his experience in the military during WWII from basic training to his participation in the fighting on Omaha Beach four days after the initial invasion of Normandy, otherwise known as D-Day. Thompson was awarded a Good Conduct Medal for his service during WWII.
