2016 July 19
Born in Hillsboro, West Virginia in 1937, Mary Vaughan was a child during WWII. She remembers life on her farm near a small town, such as keeping rabbits and playing games where corn was stored. She also discusses her older brother who was drafted into the Army where he was killed in action. She reads a section from a letter she wrote to him after he was killed, but before her family was notified.
