Wickes Westcott was born September 6, 1923 in Chestertown, Maryland. Having graduated high school as the war began, Wickes discusses his enlistment and service in the Pacific front, as well as a description of Chestertown before and during wartime. He also discusses German POWs near Chestertown, and discusses his reactions to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, VJ Day, and other important moments of WWII.
