Frances “Francie” Miller, born October 15, 1937, was a child who lived in New Jersey and Florida during WWII. She discusses her father’s role as a PX in the Panama Canal and talks about the time that she spent on the Panamanian military base with him. She discusses rationing and entertainment during the war and talks about the ways that newsreels affected her. She also talks about the nightmares she had about the war and talks about the ways that propaganda caused her nightmares. She also shares a few books that she had read as a young child while growing up during the war.
