Harold W. Joiner recounts his time in the US Army Air Corps (today known as the US Air Force) during World War II. Joiner was a pilot in a B-25 twin-engine medium bomber, and flew 52 missions, both in North Africa and in Italy. Joiner discusses his training to become a pilot, and describes the different planes they flew and the types of missions in which they took part in the Army Air Corps. He also talks about the entertainment provided to soldiers abroad during the war. He goes on to discuss some of the people that he enlisted with (some of whom got married in the same wedding as him) and what happened to them after the war. He ends by recounting the end of his service and his return home, as well as how he and others felt about the atomic bomb.
