Letter from October 13, 1918, to W. Carlton, is an update on Lawrence condition, he is still weak from his illness and worry he might get pneumonia and that it is not "this 'Flu'" since it means he would not be allowed back. She mentions others with the flue and some that have died. She also mentions items that have been shipped to him.
Letter from October 27, 1918, asks about the Training Corp. and how the local boards are hurrying examinations due to the flu. He talks about their friends oversees and of some people that have died due to the flu. It also mentions a local who knits sweater for the Red Cross and others.
There are notes on the Russian Japanese War of 1904 on the back of the letter.
