Letter regarding concern on hearing of the Willson’s and other family member recent illnesses, his farm, death of Harry Naylon’s mother and wife in childbirth, A.’s sobriety, he mentions that Nonesuch will not regain its antebellum glory, when George Washington Young owned Nonesuch before the Civil War he was the largest slave holder in the District of Columbia. The letter also talks about “Old” Douglas, presumably an African American, marrying a white woman, A. Young’s opinion is he should be hung, and she should be burnt alive.
